I've heard a lot about it and it's supposedly really disturbing, scary as hell, etc. I want some more opinions; would it be too disturbing for 4 teenagers to watch on their own if they're on their own for a week?

I'm going to say no...but it really depends on how squeamish you are. That movie was far from scary, in my opinion. It had its moments of scariness, sure, but nothing that just plagued me for days, ya know?

You do realize it was made in the early 70's, right? Not that it matters, but special effects then weren't exactly like they are now...

Yeah I realise that; the older ones tend to be more effective as special effects are over-used now. That's why I was asking. :)
Hmm.. I thought people might be going a bit OTT about it haha.
Cheers; I'm not particularly squeamish - takes a lot to disgust me :p
Thanks for the views ^+^

Personally, I'm one for scary movies. I absolutely LOVE them. There has NEVER been a scary movie that made me have nightmares. Never..

Until I watched "The Exorcist." This movie is really not bad, unless you have issues about the thought of being posessed by the devil. I don't joke around about that stuff. -shudders- It scares the living crap out of me.

And another reason, is, that I heard, but I'm not sure, that the second one, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," I think that's what it's called, is a true story. Which gives me the heeby jeebies. ;LKASDLKFJD

Eghh.
